The City of Vienna

Vienna is the capital and largest city of Austria with a population over 2.5 million within the city and metropolitan area. It is also the country’s cultural, economical and political centre. First mentions of the city date back as far as 1137. It was home to many of Austria’s Monarchs, all of whom have left their mark on Vienna and shaped it into the architectural marvel it is today with buildings and structures such as St. Charles Church, castle Schönbrunn or the Ring Boulevard.

As a visitor to Vienna, you have a lot of attractions to choose from. There are not only famous sights such as the golden Johann Strass monument in Stadtpark, but also a multitude of museums and galleries which boast important pieces of art history as well as modern artists and over 50 theatres where you can enjoy Vienna’s rich cultural program.

No wonder the city is not only a popular destination for congresses and conventions, but also attracts several million tourists each year.
